RagDolls 2 Love
In war, children suffer. They are the "collateral damage" politicians refer to when they dismiss civilian deaths in armed conflicts. Rag Dolls 2 Love was started to put a soft cloth doll in the hands of children under six in countries ravaged by war.
RagDolls2Love was the brainchild of Mary Page Jones, wife of former St. Elizabeth's interim, The Rt. Rev. Bob Jones, She read a story of how a Raggedy Ann doll was a tear catcher, friend, adviser and parent for a child who was in need. She knew a soft rag coll could bring comfort to children traumataized, maimed or orphaned by constant combat.
Parishioners of St. Elizabeth's have made hundreds of rag dolls to ship to the Holy Land, Iraq and Afghanistan. The photo above was sent from Chad Nakamura stationed in Baghdad, and shows dolls made by parishioners of St. Elizabeth's.
